Lanier won the last time they faced Gainesville and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Longhorns blew past the Red Elephants 11-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Longhorns.
Lindsay Sisk made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, earning two RBI and one stolen base.
In other pitching news, Anisha Daniel looked comfortable as she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Lanier got a massive performance out of Carol Rubio-Hurtado, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Sara Wilson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lanier hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
Lanier's record is now 11-13. As for Gainesville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
