Football Recap: Spearfish Has No Trouble Against Mitchell

Spearfish hadn't done well against Mitchell recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Spartans put the hurt on the Kernels with a sharp 42-16 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Thomas Hughes threw for 133 yards and two TDs while completing 90% of his passes. Jackson Coauette was his top target, picking up 57 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Mickenson Bosh rushed for 78 yards on only ten carries.

Spearfish now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mitchell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
