It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pinole Valley had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They slipped by the Lick-Wilmerding Tigers 60-59. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Defeat or not, Lick-Wilmerding got some senior leadership from Avery Robins and Hailey Moy. Robins went 10-for-24 to rack up 24 points along with eight boards and four steals, while Moy went 10-for-18 en route to 20 points and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robins has scored all season. Hailey Sapalo was another key player, putting up nine points.
Pinole Valley's win bumped their record up to 19-10. As for Lick-Wilmerding, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-13 record this season.
