Football Recap: Middletown Comes Up Short

Middletown faced Tolman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Islanders had to suffer through a 41-3 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The Islanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Tolman found their leader in sophomore Isaiah Torres, who rushed for 59 yards and one TD on only five carries.

Middletown now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Tolman, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middletown will face off against Mt. Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Islanders will be up against the Kilties' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Tolman, they will take on Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
