Baseball Recap: Calvary Day Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

Calvary Day saw some tournament action on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Valor Christian Eagles.

Scottie Budrow looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Calvary Day let Russell Christian and Dalton Kelley run wild. Christian scored a run and stole Four bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Kelley scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Christian a new career-high in stolen bases. Brody Dawson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Calvary Day has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. Valor Christian is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Calvary Day will take on Metter at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Valor Christian, they will square off against Legend at 4:30 p.m. on March 27th.
