Preview: Liberty Ranch Hawks vs. Sierra Timberwolves
The Liberty Ranch Hawks and the Sierra Timberwolves will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Liberty Ranch scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Weston Ranch on the road to the tune of 76-28. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-12.
Haley Smith was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds. Those 30 points set a new season-high mark for her. Madisyn Robbins was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Meanwhile, Sierra had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ceres 53-25 on the road.
Liberty Ranch's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Sierra, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Liberty Ranch came up short against Sierra in their previous meeting back in January, falling 40-36. Can Liberty Ranch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
