Softball Game Preview: Lindbergh Flyers vs. Fox Warriors

The Lindbergh Flyers will head out to take on the Fox Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lindbergh's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Fox's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Lindbergh needed a bit of extra time to put away Cor Jesu Academy. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chargers, sneaking past 6-4. The Flyers haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Fox fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Parkway West on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 5-4. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Kara Huffman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Breanna Bone also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Fox's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Lindbergh, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Lindbergh came out on top in a nail-biter against Fox in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flyers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
