Basketball Game Preview: Tri-Valley Bulldogs vs. Mahanoy Area Golden Bears

Tri-Valley hasn't had much luck against Mahanoy Area recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tri-Valley Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mahanoy Area Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Tri-Valley had to suffer through a 61-33 loss at the hands of Line Mountain.

Despite the loss, Tri-Valley got top-tier performance from Avery Miller, who went 8 for 20 on her way to 26 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Miller continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Faith Artz was another key player, putting up three points in addition to nine boards and four blocks.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Mahanoy Area's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 49-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Executive Education Academy Charter School. The Golden Bears were up 27-11 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Tri-Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Mahanoy Area, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
