Recap: Mars Fightin' Planets vs. Hampton Talbots
The Mars Fightin' Planets were the 54-40 winner over the Hampton Talbots when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Mars took a 54-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hampton on Monday. Mars has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mars lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alexis Cashdollar, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Day, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Mars has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Hampton, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-5.
Mars will be playing at home against Fox Chapel at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hampton, they will head out on the road to face off against Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highlands will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
