Soccer Game Preview: Santa Fe vs. La Cueva

Santa Fe is 1-7 against La Cueva since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Demons will challenge the Bears at 6:30 p.m.

Santa Fe is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Sandia, who was ranked second at the time (Santa Fe was ranked 22nd). The Demons fell 4-2 to the Matadors on Monday. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Santa Fe couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, La Cueva hasn't lost a match since September 10th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Saturday. They beat Capital by a goal, winning 4-3. La Cueva haven't had any issues with Capital recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

La Cueva hit Capital with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Pedro Arana, Winston Starr, Jonah Grega, and Parker Hamill.

Santa Fe's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for La Cueva, their victory bumped their record up to 15-1-2.

Santa Fe might still be hurting after the 6-3 defeat they got from La Cueva when the teams last played on October 4th. Can the Demons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
