Softball Game Preview: Greenbrier Wolfpack vs. Vidalia Indians

The Greenbrier Wolfpack will take on the Vidalia Indians at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither Greenbrier nor Vidalia posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Greenbrier can't be too happy about their upcoming road matchup considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Thursday. They came up short against Emanuel County Institute, falling 9-1.

Greenbrier saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Hamilton, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Vidalia took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Wheeler County 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since September 7, 2024.

Greenbrier beat Vidalia 9-5 in their previous matchup back in August of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfpack since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
