Howard's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Baldwin Braves with a sharp 8-2 victory. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Matthew Griffin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Griffin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cedric Williams, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2025. Jayden Reese was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Howard's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Baldwin, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Baldwin will take on Evans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 0.8 runs per game this season, so the Braves' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Howard will be paying especially close attention to Baldwin's matchup: after Baldwin faces off against Evans, they'll take on Howard again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
