Soccer Game Preview: Pike County vs. Trinity Christian

The Pike County Pirates will square off against the Trinity Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Christian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Pike County, who comes in off a win.

Pike County gave up the first goal on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Pirates who were credited with the victory. Pike County got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Shaw's three. The win made it back-to-back victories for Pike County.

Trinity Christian is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Johns Creek just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Gladiators, falling 7-1. While losing is never fun, Trinity Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Johns Creek are ranked 16th).

Pike County pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those three games. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.
