Football Recap: Grapevine Faith Christian Takes a Loss

If Grapevine Faith Christian was feeling good fresh off their 56-7 takedown of Trinity Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions took a blow against the Midland Christian Mustangs on Friday, falling 58-30. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 530th, while the Mustangs are ranked 254th).

Grapevine Faith Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Montes, who picked up 181 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Montes was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 50 yards. Charlie Bunch also helped out as he racked up 164 receiving yards.

Grapevine Faith Christian's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Midland Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
