Baseball Recap: Cross Creek Comes Up Short

Cross Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Harlem Bulldogs, falling 23-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 last Tuesday.

Benjamin Johnson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Cross Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Harlem, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

Looking ahead, Cross Creek will host Aquinas at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Aquinas is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Harlem, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 win against North Augusta on the 15th.
