Baseball Recap: Dalton Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Dalton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Woodland Wildcats by a score of 5-2. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

RJ Donahue tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Charles Chappelle was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cain Woods, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Dalton pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Woodland, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.

Dalton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Woodland: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
