Softball Recap: North Callaway Beats Palmyra for Their Fourth Straight Victory

North Callaway barely beat Palmyra the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Thunderbirds' pitchers stepped up to hand the Panthers a 10-0 shutout on Saturday. Considering the Thunderbirds have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kymorie Myers, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last six contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Madyson Gordon, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

North Callaway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win (which was North Callaway's fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Palmyra, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

North Callaway wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 win against Community on the 20th. As for Palmyra, they will venture away from home to square off against Elsberry at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
