Recap: Loyalton Grizzlies vs. Quincy Trojans
The Loyalton Grizzlies lost against the Quincy Trojans back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Loyalton took a hard 55-40 fall against Quincy. Loyalton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Loyalton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Catherine Petterson, who scored ten points along with two steals. Petterson is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Mollie Griffin was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Quincy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shelby Nussle, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Tatum Hughes, who scored 15 points.
Loyalton has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Quincy, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 23-4.
Loyalton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Quincy, they will head out on the road to take on Portola at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Quincy is coming into the contest with seven straight victories on the road, meaning Portola will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
