Softball Recap: Lambert Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Lambert never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the North Atlanta Warriors 14-0. Considering the Longhorns have won 12 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lambert let Sophie Hill and Paige Wentworth run wild. Hill went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Wentworth went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most hits Wentworth has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Payton Yi, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Lambert always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Lambert is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for North Atlanta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 18 of their last 20 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-23 record this season.
