Softball Recap: First Presbyterian Day Continues Road Dominance on Monday

First Presbyterian Day had won six straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped up to 18-3 to make it seven. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Georgia Military College Bulldogs. Considering the Vikings have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

First Presbyterian Day let Addison Arnold and Jessica Jones run wild. Arnold went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI, while Jones went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Spillers, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

First Presbyterian Day always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Georgia Military College only posted an OBP of .333.

As for Georgia Military College, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-14. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly eight runs.

On Georgia Military College's side, Sadie Schell made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Schell has launched this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Presbyterian Day will welcome Central Fellowship Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Georgia Military College, they will host West Laurens at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
