Volleyball Recap: Kenston Forest Comes Up Short

Kenston Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the New Covenant Gryphons, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Kavaliers of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-13, 25-16.

Kardin Jones paced Kenston Forest's offense, picking up seven kills. Jones got some help from Paynter Satterwhite and her 18 assists. Naomi Knowles controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

New Covenant was led to victory by Embry Carlton and Elle Vollmer. Carlton had 12 digs and two assists, while Vollmer had nine digs and three aces. Carlton has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Kenston Forest's loss dropped their record down to 5-10-1. As for New Covenant, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Looking ahead, Kenston Forest will be playing at home against Tidewater Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Covenant, they will take on Miller School of Albemarle at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
