Softball Game Preview: Greene County Rams vs. Saydel Eagles

The Greene County Rams will head out to challenge the Saydel Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Greene County has six straight wins, Saydel has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Greene County was able to grind out a solid victory over Northwest Webster, taking the game 7-3.

Meanwhile, Saydel fell victim to Grand View Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Thunder, falling 12-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Greene County's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Saydel, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Everything went Greene County's way against Saydel in their previous matchup on June 4th, as Greene County made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
