Recap: Springfield Township Spartans vs. Lower Moreland Lions
The Springfield Township Spartans pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-59 bruising from Lower Moreland. Springfield Township has not had much luck with Lower Moreland recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lower Moreland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Briana Mcferran, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The game was Mcferran's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Santora, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Springfield Township's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Lower Moreland, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield Township will be home for the holidays to greet Upper Dublin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Upper Dublin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Springfield Township in Pennsylvania (Upper Dublin is ranked 27th, while Springfield Township is ranked 90th). Lower Moreland will be home for the holidays to greet Quakertown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
