Meanwhile, Jackson-Reed faced School Without Walls in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Tigers blew past the Penguins 13-3. Considering the Tigers have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Teddy Benach looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aaron Saad, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Ouzts, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Jackson-Reed was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.
Jackson-Reed has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Eastern, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
