Soccer Game Preview: Spencer vs. Hardaway

Spencer is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Hardaway a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Spencer Greenwave will be playing at home against the Hardaway Hawks at 8:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Spencer is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Columbus on Tuesday. The Greenwave took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, Spencer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Columbus are ranked 69th).

Spencer's goal came courtesy of Gabino Vicente, who's now up to ten this season.

Meanwhile, Hardaway lost 11-1 to Sumter County on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that Hardaway have lost by exactly ten goals.

Spencer's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Hardaway, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Spencer skirted past Hardaway 3-2 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Will the Greenwave repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
