Elsinore comes up short despite Ashirah Williams' dominant performance

Recap: Elsinore Tigers vs. Chino Hills Huskies

The Elsinore Tigers suffered their biggest defeat since December 27, 2023 on Saturday. They suffered a tough 42-20 loss at the hands of Chino Hills. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Elsinore has scored all season.

Despite the loss, Elsinore still got an impressive performance from Ashirah Williams, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Williams has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Iree Mativa, who scored five points along with two steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Elsinore and nudges their season record down to 10-12. As for Chino Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Elsinore's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hemet at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for Chino Hills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Upland at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Upland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 576th, while Chino Hills is ranked 168th).
