Softball Recap: Cherokee Bluff Beats Monroe Area for Their Fourth Straight Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cherokee Bluff ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes 5-4. Those five runs were actually the fewest the Bears have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

The victory (which was Cherokee Bluff's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Monroe Area, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Cherokee Bluff will challenge East Forsyth at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monroe Area, they are taking a road trip to square off against Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
