Softball Recap: Valor Christian Triumphs + How To Watch

While Valor Christian's win against Pueblo South wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Colts 6-4. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Colts recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Elizabeth Canales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Abigail Watson, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Mia Brookshier was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Valor Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pueblo South only managed four hits.

Valor Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Pueblo South, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Valor Christian will challenge Ponderosa at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pueblo South, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Lutheran at 1:00 p.m. The Colts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
