Baseball Recap: Anderson Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Anderson Prep Academy had lost five straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-13 to make it six. They lost 18-7 to the Indiana School for the Deaf Orioles. The Jets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Orioles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Kyle Green and Corbin Fathauer stepped up to the plate in a big way. Green went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Fathauer went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Fathauer is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Roberto Rubio, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

As for Indiana School for the Deaf, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Indiana School for the Deaf's side, Zander Gonzalez was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, five runs, and one RBI. Those six stolen bases gave Gonzalez a new career-high. Ian Fetzer was another key player, going 4-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Coming up, Anderson Prep Academy will take on Indianapolis Shortridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.08 runs per game on average), something the Jets will no doubt try to take advantage of. Indiana School for the Deaf has already played their next matchup (against Indianapolis Arsenal Technical), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
