Softball Recap: Fillmore Central Takes a Loss

Fillmore Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They fell 12-9 to the Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-6 on September 11th.

Malorie Lawver was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alexis Saatmann, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Fillmore Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Wilber-Clatonia, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Fillmore Central is on the road again on Saturday to play Centennial at 3:30 p.m. The Broncos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.48 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wilber-Clatonia, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Southern/Diller-Odell at 5:00 p.m.
