Softball Recap: Waverly-Shell Rock Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Waverly-Shell Rock and Cedar Falls, and Cedar Falls kept the tradition alive. The Go-Hawks took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Monday. The Go-Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Waverly-Shell Rock's loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6. As for Cedar Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Tigers beat Waverly-Shell Rock by a score of 6-0 later that day.
