Soccer Game Preview: Johansen vs. Pacheco

The Johansen Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Pacheco Panthers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Johansen's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Thursday, Johansen didn't have quite enough to beat Ceres and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Pacheco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against Central Valley, falling 15-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1059th, while the Hawks are ranked 96th).

Johansen's loss dropped their record down to 8-5-3. As for Pacheco, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12-1.

Everything went Johansen's way against Pacheco in their previous meeting on January 3rd, as Johansen made off with a 6-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Johansen since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
