The Hapeville Charter Hornets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Mays Raiders on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won five contests in a row.
J Colbert was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of S Johnson, who scored a run and stole Four bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Hapeville Charter pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Mays, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
