Football Game Preview: KIPP College Prep Panthers vs. Bell Griffins + How To Watch

The KIPP College Prep Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Bell Griffins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

KIPP College Prep is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Coolidge, who was ranked fifth at the time (KIPP College Prep was ranked 19th). The Panthers were outmatched by the Colts and fell 42-12. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Bell never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-0 victory over Sidwell Friends. The Griffins' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Bell's win came from a few key players KIPP College Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Will Hewitt, who threw for 165 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Marquette Jenkins helped Hewitt out on the ground, rushing for 66 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries.

Bell was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 219 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, KIPP College Prep fell to 2-1. As for Bell, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

KIPP College Prep was dealt a bruising 47-0 defeat at the hands of Bell when the teams last played back in August of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
