Preview: Orange Glen Patriots vs. Santa Fe Christian Eagles
The Orange Glen Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Santa Fe Christian Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Orange Glen has not done well against Maranatha Christian recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Orange Glen walked away with a 35-26 victory over Maranatha Christian. The victory was just what Orange Glen needed coming off of a 58-29 defeat in their prior contest.
Santa Fe Christian posted their biggest win since January 3rd on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tri-City Christian 56-26 at home. Santa Fe Christian pushed the score to 50-22 by the end of the third, a deficit Tri-City Christian had little chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Piper Lenihan, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for 16 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jennifer Stanion, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Orange Glen's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Santa Fe Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.
Orange Glen suffered a grim 68-47 defeat to Santa Fe Christian in their previous meeting on January 9th. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Orange Glen was down 40-11.
