Basketball Recap: St. Patrick-St. Vincent Takes a Loss

St. Patrick-St. Vincent lost against Salesian College Preparatory back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins lost 63-43 to the Salesian College Preparatory Pride. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while the Pride are ranked 78th).

Salesian College Preparatory had a senior duo take command as Janiya Sawyer posted 17 points and three steals and Vanessa Parilla put up 15 points and four steals. Sawyer has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Jamia Sawyer was another key player, putting up 12 points and six boards.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither St. Patrick-St. Vincent nor Salesian College Preparatory have any future games scheduled.
