Baseball Recap: East Jackson Drops Season-High Score on Johnson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Jackson). Everything went their way against the Johnson Knights on Saturday as the East Jackson Eagles made off with a 20-1 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.

Brooks Saunders looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Bryse Patterson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Nunez, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

East Jackson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for East Jackson and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Johnson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

East Jackson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-5 defeat against Apalachee on the 24th. As for Johnson, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-2 loss against West Hall on the 25th.
