Softball Recap: Duchesne/Roncalli Takes a Loss

Duchesne/Roncalli extended their losing streak to eight on Monday, dropping them down to 9-14. They lost 14-2 to the Douglas County West Falcon. If Duchesne/Roncalli was looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to Douglas County West when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Duchesne/Roncalli saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Myla Downing, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Douglas County West, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games.

On Douglas County West's side, Ericka Murphy was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace White, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Coming up, Duchesne/Roncalli will take on Elkhorn North at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Duchesne/Roncalli's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. Douglas County West has already played their next contest (against Arlington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
