Baseball Game Preview: North Cobb Warriors vs. Etowah Eagles

The North Cobb Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Etowah Eagles at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games North Cobb has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between North Cobb and Marietta, and Marietta kept the tradition alive. North Cobb fell just short of Marietta by a score of 9-8 on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, Etowah had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past the Wildcats 12-2. Considering the Eagles have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Etowah's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for North Cobb, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
