Softball Game Preview: Towns County Indians vs. East Hall Vikings

The Towns County Indians will venture away from home to face off against the East Hall Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Monday, Towns County got the win against East Jackson by a conclusive 10-2. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Indians' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

East Hall came out on top against West Hall on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run seventh inning. The Vikings put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 18-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.

Savannah Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Smith was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Reilly, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Dayana Banks also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

East Hall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
