Football Recap: Victory Christian Academy Knights vs. Maranatha Christian Eagles
Victory Christian Academy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the Maranatha Christian Eagles 56-14. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Gabriel Aguirre, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maranatha Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than River Contreras, who rushed for 74 yards and two scores. Ryan Niguidula was another key back, rushing for 58 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
