Basketball Game Preview: Burton Scorpions vs. Animo Venice Pirates

Burton is 2-8 against Animo Venice since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Burton Scorpions will venture away from home to face off against the Animo Venice Pirates at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Burton is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season last Tuesday. They were dealt a 74-5 loss at the hands of WISH Academy.

Meanwhile, Animo Venice played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 70-10 loss at the hands of Animo Watts. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Animo Venice's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Burton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Burton took a serious blow against Animo Venice in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 60-3. Can Burton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
