Basketball Recap: Wiseburn- Da Vinci Takes a Loss

Wiseburn- Da Vinci was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Peninsula Panthers. The Wolves lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-17 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Wiseburn- Da Vinci lost, don't look at Kayla Muhammad-Flissinger. Despite the final result, she posted 14 points and five boards. Muhammad-Flissinger continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Sutton, who put up six points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Wiseburn- Da Vinci smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Wiseburn- Da Vinci's defeat dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Peninsula, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13.

Wiseburn- Da Vinci wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-40 victory against Geffen Academy on the 4th. Peninsula has also already played their next game (against North), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
