Softball Recap: Elkhorn South Extends Winning Streak to Three

Elkhorn South waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Marian Crusaders by a score of 8-5. The Storm have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Crusaders, too.

The team relied heavily on Paityn Spencer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ollie Songster, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Elkhorn South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marian only posted an OBP of .375.

Elkhorn South's record is now 3-1. As for Marian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Elkhorn South will challenge rival Papillion-LaVista at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Marian is set to square off against their familiar foe Westview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Crusaders' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
