Softball Game Preview: Hermann Bearcats vs. Wright City Wildcats

Hermann is 0-9 against Wright City since September of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Bearcats will welcome the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. One thing working in Hermann's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.

If Hermann beats Wright City with 12 runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Bearcats were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over St. Pius X on Thursday. Considering the Bearcats have won six matchups by more than ten runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Coraline Nobel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Nobel was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Taylor Carver was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024. Delilah Nobel was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Hermann kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 13 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Wright City suffered their closest defeat since October 1, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Clopton by a score of 3-1.

Hermann has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for Wright City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
