Elgin came tearing into Saturday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Lookeba-Sickles Panthers. This was payback for the Owls, who suffered a 7-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Elgin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelby Carter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Elgin's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Lookeba-Sickles, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Elgin has already played their next match, an 8-0 win against Canute on the 6th. Lookeba-Sickles does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
