Softball Recap: Burke County Comes Up Short

Burke County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 20-3 to the Screven County Gamecocks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gamecocks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 on Thursday.

Burke County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexa Beatty, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Burke County now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Screven County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Burke County will face off against Cross Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Razorbacks have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Screven County, they will square off against Edmund Burke Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
