Volleyball Recap: New Heights Christian Academy Triumphs

School of the Ozarks typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday New Heights Christian Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Patriots, sneaking past 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

New Heights Christian Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 26-28, 25-16, 25-22.

Alayna McKarus had a dynamite game, getting 82 digs. Those 82 digs gave her a new career-high.

New Heights Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, School of the Ozarks saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ashlynn Saffle had 16 digs.

New Heights Christian Academy's record is now 9-7-3. As for School of the Ozarks, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4-3.

New Heights Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 1-1 draw against Tournament Team on the 20th. As for School of the Ozarks, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Hurley on the 22nd.
