Football Recap: Joshua Ellington-Beals and Brandon Valdivia Pace Fremont Defense

Fremont's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 28-18 victory over the Diego Rivera Huskies. The Pathfinders haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Elijah Ware was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 115 yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fremont was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 306 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 199 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Fremont didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Joshua Ellington-Beals and Brandon Valdivia. Valdivia is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.

The victory got Fremont back to even at 2-2. As for Diego Rivera, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fremont will head out to square off against Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pathfinders will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Diego Rivera, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Maywood CES at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
