Basketball Recap: Knight Comes Up Short

Knight lost against Lancaster back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Knight Hawks took a 46-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancaster Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 731st, while the Eagles are ranked 259th).

Despite the loss, Knight saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kailah Holley posted 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Mardria Logan, who earned two points.

Even though they lost, Knight smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Knight's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Lancaster, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-4.

Knight has already played their next match, a 64-17 win against Littlerock on the 3rd. As for Lancaster, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-51 victory against Highland on the 3rd.
